- The town of Bangor is very accessible to the students at the university. Most of the campus buildings and halls are a short walk from the city centre. The picturesque Bangor Pier is also a short walk away, where students can try the best scones in Wales!
- Bangor is famous for its the scenery and the surrounding area, which are amongst the top reasons why students go there. The Snowdonia National Park is one such attraction.
- Even if you are not the adventure type, there is still plenty to explore in the surrounding area. Try historical towns such as Beaumaris, Conwy and Caernarfon (all with their own castles), or scenic villages like Beddgelert and Betws-y-Coed.
- In the summer months, stunning beaches on the nearby island of Anglesey are popular spots for sunbathing, swimming and days out with friends.
