Painting MA:
duration : 2.5 years ( 10 semesters)

MA in Ceramics Design:
- Portfolio, with minimum 10 works, made in the past 2-3 years.

MA in Choral Conducting:
All credits are accepted if the applicant has a BA degree in Performing Arts, specialized in Orchestra or Choral Conducting, or has a university level degree (as per the Law Nr. 80 of 1993 on Higher Education) in Orchestral or Choral Conducting, or a college level degree in Music Theory and Solfège Teaching, Choral Conducting, or Wind Orchestra Conducting.
BA degrees that can be acceptable provided the applicant obtains certain credits include:
- other specializations of BA in Performing Arts,
- all specializations of Creative Arts and Musicology,
- other programmes, belonging to the study field of Arts, that lead to MA degrees in Music,
- any college or university level programmes as per the Law Nr. 80 of 1993 on Higher Education that are accepted by the decision of the Credit Trasfer Committee of the Higher Education Institution in the credit transfer procedure when teaching contents are compared.
MA in Classical Music Performance (Flute):
- Portfolio – Collection of uncut video recordings of the applicant playing the following pieces of music:
Flute
• Two movements of a chosen sonata by J. S. Bach
• First and second movement of Mozart’s D or G Major flute concerto, with cadence
• One chosen piece in a different style than the previous ones
MA in Classical Music Performance (Guitar):
- Portfolio – Collection of uncut video recordings of the applicant playing the following pieces of music:
Guitar
• Two etudes (please choose form: Fernando Sor Op. 29., Giuliani Op. 48.),
• Carcassi Op. 60., Napoleon Coste Op. 38.)
• One full Bach suite (lute, violin or cello sonata adaptation)
• One concerto with piano accompaniment
• Two pieces of free choice from the Classical or Romantic Period, or from the 20th century
MA in Classical Music Performance (Piano):
- Portfolio – Collection of uncut video recordings of the applicant playing the following pieces of music:
Piano
• One Prelude and Fugue from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Volume 1 or 2 by J. S. Bach
• First and the slow movement from a Classical Sonata
• One virtuoso etude
• One significant Romantic work (duration minimum 6 min.)
• One contemporary (20th-21st Century) work
MA in Classical Music Performance (Violin):
- Portfolio – Collection of uncut video recordings of the applicant playing the following pieces of music:
Violin
• Two chosen movements by J. S. Bach
One outer movement chosen from the following:
• Mozart’s Violin concertos
• Mendelssohn: Violin Concerto in E minor
• Dvořák: Violin Concerto
• Sibelius: Violin Concerto
• Schumann: Violin Concerto
• Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto
• Paganini: Violin Concertos
• Brahms: Violin Concerto
• Bartók: Violin Concerto
- Portfolio – Uncut recording of the applicant performing the following pieces of music:
- 5 arias of at least two different periods of style
- 2 songs (Schumann, Schubert or Liszt)
- 1 poem performed in the applicant’s own mother tongue or any other freely chosen language
The Committee also assesses the applicant ‘s stage aptitude.

If the applicant does not have a language proficiency certificate, but on the basis of the oral entrance examination their language proficiency is sufficient to complete the relevant programme, the entrance examination committee may waive this criterion.

About Faculty
The Faculty of Music and Visual Arts in Pécs is the only centre of higher education in Hungary that integrates training in music and fine arts. The Faculty was established in 1996 from various art departments of its legal predecessors. Its establishment was facilitated by the traditionally strong, nationally outstanding artistic life of Pécs.
The main body of the Faculty’s artist teachers is constituted by fine artists and musicians who have settled down in Pécs. The private and public collections of the city – offering a uniquely comprehensive introduction to 20th century Hungarian art – the many concerts, the city’s symphonic orchestra, the long tradition of choral music and several other internationally renowned artistic groups, all provide a strong foundation for the Faculty as a higher educational centre in the arts.

Student Accommodation at University of Pécs
The University of Pécs has ten dormitories. They are located in quiet, residential areas of the city. The Faculties of the University as well as the city centre are easily accessible from the dormitories. Most of the dormitories have recently been renovated. The rooms are nicely furnished and contain bathrooms. Bedclothes are supplied. Rooms are offered on a reasonable price level: approximately EUR 130 per month.
