Academic Requirements

  • Good high school graduation grades or equivalent
  • GCSE/IGCSE: 5 passes at 4, grade C

  • International Baccalaureate Certificate: 22 points or first year IB programme – 24 points

  • O Level 5 A-C : Including relevant subjects with grade C, no native language

About Faculty

The International Foundation Year provides a route to a variety of undergraduate degrees at the University of Sussex. Students study a two-semester programme of academic subjects, study skills and English language training to prepare them for their chosen degree. There is also a specialist careers element integrated into the programme to equip students with the employability skills they need to stand out in the competitive graduate job market.

Once students complete the programme and achieve the required grades, they can enter the first year of their chosen undergraduate degree at the University.

There are two International Foundation Year programmes available, with different pathways leading to a wide range of progression degrees.
